László Boa’s presentation focused on the relationship between AI vibe coding and enterprise-level software development, as well as the developer skills that are and will continue to be needed in the era of generative AI.
One of the key messages of the presentation was that although generative AI is accelerating software development at an incredible pace, programming knowledge remains essential. As was pointed out during the talk, a pilot must still know how to fly a plane, even if autopilot handles most of the journey. When problems arise, real knowledge and experience are what matter.
Laci also pointed out that the best developer of the future will not necessarily be the one who writes the most code, but the one who knows when coding is not needed and when it is necessary to take manual control. AI is not an opponent, but a tool that must be guided properly. As he put it, the orchestra will never replace the conductor.
With the rise of generative AI, software architecture, the ability to understand business and non-functional requirements, and enterprise-level development experience are becoming especially valuable. It is a shared responsibility of IT companies and educational institutions to train young professionals who can enter the labour market equipped with these skills.
