Paks II Ltd. has decided to implement an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system within the framework of the Management System of the Licensee (EIR), based on the IBM Maximo for Nuclear solution. The decision supports the previously announced governmental and investor objectives: accelerating the construction of the Paks II nuclear power plant (Units 5 and 6) and increasing overall project efficiency.
The implementation of the EIR–EAM system is a mandatory task for the licensee, yet it also represents a strategic opportunity. According to international references, digital governance is key to ensuring that large-scale infrastructure investments avoid cost overruns and schedule delays, while supporting compliance with safety and quality assurance requirements. IBM Maximo for Nuclear is among the most advanced international solutions designed to meet the specific needs of the nuclear industry.

R&R Software, as a certified partner of the American manufacturer IBM, has successfully completed the first phase of implementing Maximo for Nuclear and also participated in the deployment of the TAShelix system, which ensures technical and occupational health supervision during construction. Within the project, our company provided expertise in project management, system integration, quality assurance, and IT security.
Following the completion of the first project phase, R&R Software’s project director and professional project manager presented the results achieved so far and the future directions in a panel discussion at the Infotér 2025 Conference. The discussion covered:
– the capabilities of IBM technology,
– the support provided by R&R Software,
– the planned applications of AI and drone technology,
– and how digital preparedness can help avoid the cost and schedule overruns frequently seen in international large-scale projects.

We would like to thank the experts of IBM Hungary and the project manager of Paks II for their cooperation, the Arrow team for organizing the event and providing the venue, and all our guests for their professional interest and active participation.
Starting November 3, R&R Software will present its digitalization and artificial intelligence–based solutions at the World Nuclear Expo international exhibition.
